Andrew Qian

Andrew is the Founder and Managing Director of New Access Capital International. He was formerly a Vice-President of Softbank China. Prior to his VC/finance career, Andrew practiced U.S. corporate law with premier law firms in New York and Hong Kong, where he participated in the IPOs of China Southern Airlines and China National Offshore Oil Company.

At New Access, Andrew's team successfully completed nine private placement and cross-border M&A deals in the past 3 years, with transactions amounting to nearly $450 million. Its existing or former clients include the9.com (NASDAQ: NCTY), Focus Media (NASDAQ: FMCN), GigaMedia (NASDAQ: GIGA), Norstar Media (www.it168.com and www.che168.com), DNS (www.dns.com.cn), Shanghai Synacast (www.pplive.com), China Broad Media (www.cnr8.com), CGII, and Shanghai Chinllenge Gases.

Andrew grew up in Shanghai and attended Foreign Affairs College in Beijing. He earned M.A. in political science from UCLA, and J.D. from Yale University Law School. He is President of the Yale Club of Shanghai, and an executive member of the Chinese National Youth Association Returnees Council. He was formerly an advisor to the Shanghai Xuhui District government.

Andrew has lectured on private equity investment at the Joint EMBA Program of Shanghai Fudan University and Olin Business School of Washington University (in St. Louis), and at the Shanghai Jiaotong University Aetna Business School and has spoken at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Corporate Forum and at the conference organized by the Deal magazine in New York. He has authored articles, published in both American and Chinese professional journals, about private equity investment, corporate governance, and corporate finance. For an article published in the Journal of the American Bar Association in 1995, he received letters of congratulations from President Clinton and former Secretary of State Warren Christopher. In 2005, he attended the Leaders¡¯ Forum, organized by former U.S. Secretary of Defense William Cohen.

 


Haodong Gong

Haodong is a Partner of New Access Capital International. At New Access, he was in charge of the private equity financing for Shanghai Chillenge Gases from international venture capital firms in September 2005. He has over 12 years experience in private equity investment, investment banking, and securities brokerage.

Haodong worked with Sanyo Securities Group, first as a manager at its International Business Division based in Tokyo, then as a senior manager in Hong Kong. Subsequently, he worked as a Vice President with First Securities (HK) Ltd., in its Japan Desk and Corporate Finance division. Before joining New Access Capital International in September, 2004, Haodong was the Managing Director of Wanrong Investment Consulting (Shanghai) Ltd., a subsidiary of Taiwan's First Securities Group, where he was responsible for Chinese companies' Hong Kong IPO and M&A activities

Haodong received B.A. from Fudan University, M.A. degree in Finance from Tokyo International University, and EMBA degree from Olin Business School of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

 


Jeff Qian

Jeff is a Partner of New Access Capital International. At New Access, he was in charge of the successful fund raising for Synacast Media and Norstar Media from international institutional investors.

Jeff was the business development manager for the pharmaceutical business unit at Eastman Chemical Company, with responsibility for Company's China strategy and for identifying potential collaboration and licensing opportunities for the company's proprietary technologies. Subsequently, he was a senior consultant at Defined Health, a New Jersey-based boutique healthcare consulting firm. There, he managed a commercial evaluation team which advised global clients on licensing and M&A opportunites and U.S. market entry strategies. In January, 2005, he relocated to Shanghai to join New Access.

Jeff received M.D. degree from Shanghai Second Medical University. Subsequently, he received M.S. degree from Oklahoma State University, in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He did his post-doctoral work with Dr. Hal Skopicki and Dr. David Stern at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, on the subject of anti-angiogenesis. He received MBA from Vanderbilt University.

 

Joan Tan

Joan is a Vice President of New Access Capital. Prior to joining NAC in 2008, Joan was responsible for developing and executing corporate business strategy and client relationship management in China and US.? Prior, Joan held iinvestment banking positions in the TMT Investment Banking Group at JPMorgan Chase and the Corporate Finance Group at PaineWebber.? Joan earned an MBA and MS degree from the University of Miami, and a BS degree in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas.

 

Amy Chen

Amy is an Associate at New Access Capital,where her primary areas of interest are energy, and software and services.Before joining New Access Capital, she worked at Lianhe Credit rating Management Company as a corporation credit rating Analyst. Amy received B.S. degree in 2002 and M.A. degree in 2005 in Financial Management from NanKai University.

 

Raymond Ruan

Raymond is an Analyst in New Access Capital. Before joining New Access Capital in 2008, he worked at a leading enterprise in domestic glass industry as a controller. Prior, Raymond was a trader at an investment and consultation company. He obtained B.A. degree from Shanghai JiaoTong university. He also got the qualification issued by China's Securities Association, concerning Investment analysis and basic knowledge etc.
